Maintenance and Log Retention settings
Ping monitor application stores immense amount of data for each host
being monitored. The data is stored as raw reports and at the same time
the data which is analyzed is also stored for each host in a unique
structure. All these tend to consume lots of disk space.
The server side application of Ping Monitor can manage the log rotation/retention automatically.
In the standard setting as above, the raw data which is older than 30
days are automatically purged. The application will check the log files
once every 5 hours as defined here.
If you have a need to retain the data for a longer period you can increase the duration to required limit.
Steelsonic Ping Monitor uses high performance MongoDB for its backend.
It is well known that this database can hold data upto terrabytes
easily, the primary restriction would be the hardware it is running on.
